Switch uchi to the gcrest shield and "optimise" armor if you want. It will just look boring as hell. 22 poise is enough to take one 1h katana strike, anything else must be rolled out.
Don't hesitate to cast Pursuers, you're not using any spell-boosting equipment, so it will not oneshoot anyone within sl 100 range. It's a perfect "get-the-hell-away-from-me" tool, very handy for landing a clear shot with the bow.
Ward off the BS attempts with an offhand uchi.
Earn extra style points by killing the enemy with the burrito combo.
