This is the first build I've made for DS1. Mask of the child because it has an effect (stamina regen) which you'll want for the ninja flips, and looks better than father mask/weighs less than mother mask, plus who even needs that health boost. That's why I have the low carry weight and dark wood grain ring, and the reason for the shadow garb/leggings (low weight and they have that good stealthy look). Gauntlets of thorns, again, because they have an effect (roll damage) and I like the look of them, and the silvery color goes good with the mask of the child. Ring of fog because assassin once again. When invading, paired with the dark silver tracer, a fast weapon with a high critical modifier, can make backstabs easier and makes it harder for an enemy in PVP to judge your attack range and speed. Dark wood grain ring/Ring of Fog can both be swapped out (preferrably ring of fog) to a different item such as a covenant ring, as they are not 'necessary' items for the build(as something like havel's ring could be), though the defense and health is low so once again I wouldn't advise removing the dark wood ring. The demon's catalyst is good for dark sorceries without having too large of a sacrifice to intelligence, as this is made up for by the strength that Pursuers/Dark Bead scale with. Dark hand is just because it weighs nothing, maybe you can catch someone by surprise and steal humanity. Since the dark spells are capable of causing large damage and should certainly be used in PVP, if someone can dodge them, that's a problem. After casting Pursuers, you can use the silver pendant to push them upwards and outwards, changing up the tracking and making them more difficult to dodge. Dragon head stone is also there just because.
