You can fast roll or mid roll but that depends on whether or not you want to use Havel's ring. Swap Havel's ring for wolf ring for more poise or keep Havel's ring for fast roll. Try and get to 25 faith as soon as you possibly can so you can join the Warrior's of Sunlight covenant so you can get the lightning spear early and then engage in some J O L L Y C O O P E R A T I O N to work your way up to the Great Lightning Spear.
