To play this build you need a narrow pass to protect, anywhere in Sen's is pretty good, but I play on the Darkroot bridge.
It doesn't matter how many invaders come at you, just don't spam and you'll be fine. The best way to fight is to try to trade and counter attack.
Keep some rings on the side to protect against all the bullshit out there.

Magic is by far the best counter to this build, you can't block all the damage and it can be hard to roll. I keep the havel chest, gauntlets and leggins on hand to help deal with that.
