Notes from author

No estus. Must start at SL 1. 5 level-ups per boss kill. Bonfire ascetics are allowed, but killing the same boss more than once does not grant additional level-ups. No lifegems allowed aside from what you're given at the beginning of the game. Can take Healing Wares gift for some extra if desired (trying to make this an actual challange, lol). Rings help us equip good armor and gives us some extra health and stamina, stamina regen, miracle damage, and allows extra spell slots so we can focus on pumping Faith, Dex, and Vigor to their softcaps. Ring of Restoration and Ring of the Evil Eye are great options for passive health regen. Royal Soldiers Ring will allow you to equip better armor. I would use bonfire ascetics to obtain any +3 versions on the rings you can. ESPCIALLY the ritual band as it gives you three additional slots. Use a Lightning Priest Chime until you can beat Darklurker for the Dragon Chime, which you should also infuse with Lightning. Drakeblood GS has S scaling in Dex with split magic/lightning damage and is buffable. It can be obtained once you beat the Rotten to access the Sunken King DLC. Alternatively, you can use the Rapier for an early option, and then equip the Drangleic Armor/Vengarl's Helm for better defense. Partizan is a great spear option if you want to turtle and poke enemies with S dex scaling. Having a good bow will be really helpful in taking down dangerous enemies from afar while retaining spell uses (Shrine of Amana. Need I say more?) You'll want to rush to Licia of Lindelt in Heide's TOF at the start to get your first healing spells. You can get a Chime in Majula by falling off a cliff near the entrance to a platform below. If you want, you can skip killing all 4 great ones by getting 1M souls, but these stat allocations are based on killing ALL bosses. You'll miss out on 5-20 levels by skipping, as well as some great miracles that are locked behind them (ex. Blinding Bolt and Soothing Sunlight). Have fun and good luck!
