Brief description of my build from my third attempt at the game. Why this build? I simply like the art designs of the gear I chose, as well as considering its function. I chose Alva with its good weight to protection ratio, and the Pursuer's sword, mainly due to its fast swings, relatively low stamina cost and high counter-damage. I went for the Great Club as a secondary weapon simply because of the ultra-primitive design. I enjoy using it as a blunt raw damage dealer. Start as Bandit class w/ Bonfire Aecetic. Start by cheesing the Dragonrider twice. Purchase Silvercat ring. Pump Strength to 15. Kill Last Giant with any +2 weapon [I used Morning Star]. Go to Majula. Take off all your gear and use a Human Effigy. Drop into Mujula's pit. Get Fragrant branch of Yore and Great Club by speed running to Black Gulch two-hand the weapon for now]. Upgrade Great Club with regular Titanite. Farm NG+ Old Knights in HToF. Upgrade agility to 99 w/ 25 ADP. Use Great Club to Kill Pursuer. Spend souls in armory until Alva set is available. Upgrade the chest plate with remaining Titanite. Head to Shaded Woods. Clear everything. Head to lost Bastille. Kill Lost Sinner. Un-petrify Straid of Olaphis and trade for Pursuer's UGS. From here you can farm some more NG+ Old Knight's until you want to go back to Black Gulch to farm the creatures there for Titanite shards and chunks. Level up STR to 30, DEX to 18 and then END [close as you can to 20]. Level up your armor some more. By now you should have enough Petrified Dragon Bones to level your boss soul weapon to +2 and enough Titanite to +9 your Great Club, +7 your Alva chest plate, and +2 the other armor pieces. Attaining all the gear and most of the level ups to this point is possible in under 2 hours. Now head to Brightstone Cove to get the Southern Ritual Band +1 which gives you 2 Attunement slots for Pyromancies. Upgrade your Pyromancy flame. This is the base of my PVE build. I killed the Rotten next with relative ease.
